Intro to Guiding Course
So you want to be a ski guide? Now is you chance to see what it is all about. This course is three full days and will cover Cascade Powder Cats guide requirements. Students will spend most of their days in the field with evening and morning lectures. The course includes avalanche data collection training, intense transceiver training, and CPC operations and procedural training. We will offer assistant guide positions based on skills learned and demonstrated during this course. For course curriculum and more information please contact Ryan Murray at 206.931.6800. AIARE Level One Avalanche Course
Dates are Friday Evening, January 19 - Sunday January 21st.
Our Level One Avalanche Courses are a one evening and two day course with an emphasis on learning about snow mechanics, hazard evaluation techniques and developing your avalanche judgment for the backcountry. This course is designed for all types of backcountry travelers, snowshoers, backcountry skiers, snowboarders, and mountaineers.
Course Fee: $399
Includes the full AIARE Level I certification course, 2 nights lodging in our Yurt at 5000', the Cat ride in and out, AIARE (American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education) curriculum and workbook, and a couple of cat runs conditions permitting.
